Get Racing to Support Tourism in Tipperary

The South Tipperary Tourism Company and Tipperary Racecourse today announced details of a county fundraiser that will take place at Tipperary Racecourse on Sunday 6th October. Tipperary Thoroughbred Gathering

The Fundraising event will coincide with the Racecourse’s flagship Super Sunday fixture, featuring top class national hunt and flat racing and family fun entertainment.  Tickets to the event cost €60 and include a VIP raceday experience in the High Chaparral dining room overlooking the racecourse, two course lunch, afternoon tea, racecards and free entry into the raffle and sweepstakes competitions. -

Tourism is a valuable asset to county Tipperary and was worth €56 million in 2012, when 175,000 overseas visitors visited the county. South Tipperary Tourism Company works closely with Fáilte Ireland in implementing positive and practical strategies that benefit the county’s tourism industry and the Irish economy. 

South Tipperary County Council provides significant funding and support to the South Tipperary Tourism Company annually and they work together towards increasing economic activity and establishing South Tipperary as a top destination to visit both nationally and internationally

The funds raised at the raceday on the 6th October will go directly towards supporting many of the significant STTC projects such as the Tipperary Ten Walking Campaign, The Butler Trail, Tipperary Guidebook, County Workshops and Trade Shows which are managed by the South Tipperary Tourism Company. 

The South Tipperary Tourism Company is also looking forward to launching a dedicated digital platform for the county including website, social media platforms and a mobile application focused on delivering optimised and engaging information on attractions, accommodation, festivals and events.

I have been involved with the South Tipperary Tourism Company since I joined the racecourse and have been impressed by the volume of work that they do to promote the county and to encourage visitors. Tourism is an essential element of the local community and it encouraging to see so many businesses coming together to support this great event.”
