RTEs Brendan Courtney to Judge Best Dressed Lady

Preparations are in full swing at Tipperary Races for Summer Sunday Ladies Day on 21st July featuring top class National Hunt racing including the Grade 3 Kevin McManus Bookmakers Grimes Hurdle, Best Dressed Lady Competition, Who Wants to Be A Milliner hat design heats and free family fun entertainment.

Ballykisteen Hotel and Golf Resort and First Editions Ladies Fashion Boutique have been announced as the sponsors of the Best Dressed Lady competition.

The prize  includes a €1,000 hotel package from Ballykisteen Hotel and Golf Resort and a VIP trip to the Red Mills Irish Champion Stakes at Leopardstown and a chance to be styled from head to toe by First Editions of Thurles, including dress, shoes, head piece and bag giving the winner the ultimate racing style for the VIP day at Leopardstown Racecourse in September. 

The Best Dressed Lady will be judged this year by presenter of RTE’s ‘Off the Rails’ Brendan Courtney. All ladies who enter on the day will receive a complimentary Mojito and access to the Garden Lawn Marquee where they can enjoy music from local artist Tommy O’Neill. 

Brendan Courtney will also be bringing his innovative hat design competition ‘Who Wants to be a Milliner’ toTipperary Races. The winner on the day will go forward to the Millinery final.

There will be entertainment for all the family with FREE activities scheduled throughout the day including the Mobile Farm, Front Runner Racing Club for Kids, bouncy castles and inflatable obstacle courses, colouring corner and much more.

Maria Ryan from Tipperary Town who will be representing  Ireland at Ms. European in Malta this November will be on hand with members of the Miss European Team Ireland to help spot the fashion talent on the day.

Jane Davis, Manager at Tipperary Racecourse said: - “Fashion and family fun are synonymous with Irish Racing and we look forward to combining both at Tipperary Races this July. We are thriving on the momentum of the recent redevelopment at the racecourse and the fine spell of weather. We look forward to welcoming racegoers to both the Festival Family Day and Ladies Day this July.”

Admission prices for the season are set for all fixtures at €10 for adults, €8 for students/ seniors and under 18’s are FREE.
